The most harrowing stories are hidden beneath the glamor of a career. Lolo jones, the champion of the USA and World hurdles, has earned this title after a long period of hard work and incredible endurance. Jones' childhood was difficult because she was born to a single mother within a large household. Her mother and she lived in a basement church and was always moving around. Jones' nomadic lifestyle forced her to change schools every year until she reached high school. Jones had to live away from mother at Theodore Roosevelt School to pursue her love of track. She was a member of four families during her time at high school in order study in one place. Jones, a cellist in the school's orchestra, and winner of Gatorade Track and Field Iowa award for athlete of the Year won her an award called the Gatorade Iowa Athlete Award towards the close of high school.
